The fourth cohort of the Panel of the Wise proposed the establishment of the WiseYouth Network to promote youth involvement in peacemaking efforts on the African continent. This subsidiary mechanism, under the African Peace and Security Architecture, strengthens youth’s role in conflict prevention, mediation, and dialogue, fostering strategic advocacy and networking.

WiseYouth Network Activities:
- Advocacy for increased youth participation in preventive diplomacy, mediation, and dialogue.
- Enhancement of member capacities for operational readiness.
- Regular engagements with policymakers to strengthen youth participation.
Qualifications:
- Identity: Living in Africa.
- Academic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required.
- General Experience: Three years in conflict prevention, mediation, and dialogue.
- Language Proficiency: Minimum one official AU language.
- Age: 18-35 for tenure duration.
- Availability: Willingness to undertake deployment and participate in Network activities upon request.
